Guntur: Women told to change the perception of themselves
Guntur: Women's Day celebrations were organised in a grand manner at the Revenue Bhavan here on Wednesday night under the auspices of Amaravati JAC.
The JAC women's wing chairperson B Susheela presided over the programme. Commissioner of Cooperative Sector G Vani Mohan and APJAC Chairman Bopparaju Venkateshwarlu attended as the chief guests.
Addressing the gathering Vani Mohan felt that the perception of women on women should change. She said that if there was a really a need, training classes should also conducted. She called upon the womenfolk to have their own thoughts and understanding and their attitude should not be influenced by others.
A woman should develop a highly independent mind of her won, she added. She said that they should upgrade their skills in the job market and enhance their marketability. If a woman in the house was educated, the entire family would benefit, she added. She said that girls should be encouraged to pursue higher education along with boys. Nowadays, women were occupying important posts, she added.
Bopparaju Venkateswarlu said women were achieving success in all spheres of life. He said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was taking measures for the protection of women and launched Disha App to help the women. The Disha App would be of immense benefit to the women in protecting them against the anti-social elements who try to molest them, he added. The Disha Act would go a long way in curbing attacks, he added.
He felt that women should be given respect and mindset of youth should be changed towards women and girls. Men should not think that women are inferior to them.
A large number of women were present on the occasion.
