Guntur: Youth JAC leaders organise Jala Deeksha
Guntur: Youth JAC leaders on Sunday conducted a three-hour-long Jala Deeksha in a ghat at Rayapudi in Guntur district on the occasion of completion of 75 days of their agitation to mount pressure on the State government opposing the shifting of state capital from Amaravati.
Speaking on the occasion, JAC convener Ravipati Sai Krishna said that because of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's decision to set up three capitals, development in the state capital has come to a grinding halt. He alleged that the CM was dividing the state on the basis of caste.
Youth JAC co-convener Shaikh Jilani said that it was responsibility of the State government to honour the sacrifices of the farmers who gave their land for the construction of the state capital.
Dalit JAC leader Chilaka Basavaiah, youth JAC leader M Abhinay were among those participated in the Jala Deeksha programme.
