Guv offers prayers to Lord Venkateswara in Tirumala

Tirumala: Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan offered prayers to Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy here on Thursday.

Earlier, on his arrival at the main entrance of the temple Maha Dwaram, he was welcomed with the traditional Isthikaphal Swagatham by temple priests amidst chanting of Vedic hymns and Melam. He was cordially received by TTD Chairman Y V Subba Reddy, Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal, Additional Executive Officer A V Dharma Reddy and CVSO Gopinath Jatti.

After offering prayers to Dwajasthambham in the temple, the Governor had darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Later at Ranganayakula Mandapam, the Vedic pundits offered him Vedasirvachanam.

The Chairman and EO presented the first citizen of the State, Thirtha Prasadams and a laminated photo of Lord. Speaking to media after coming out of the temple, the Governor said, "Brahmotsavams of Lord are being observed in a grand manner. I had the privilege to offer prayers during this auspicious occasion.

I sought his divine blessings to serve the people and country till the end of my life. Let the country achieve great heights, prosperity and be the happiest one in the world. For all these, I sought His blessings."
