Guv stresses need to uplift tribal people in Vizianagaram

Salur (Vizianagaram district): Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Thursday stressed the need to strive for uplfit of tribal people.

During a visit to Agency area in Salur mandal, the Governor said welfare measures should be taken to ensure that tribal people lead a comfortable life. The district administration must help the tribal people and ensure that they utilise all the scheme meant for their development.

The Government, during his visit, interacted with tribal farmers at Ammavalasa village and spoke to girl students at P Konavalasa tribal Gurukul college. He spent some time at hostel for pregnant women at Salur town.

The Governor also spoke to horticulture farmers. He asked the farmers whether they had availed themselves of Rytu Bharosa scheme. Later he visited the P Konavalasa junior college and spent some time with girl students there. Deputy Chief Minister P Pushpa Srivani, District Collector M Hari Jawaharlal, MLA P Rajanna Dora and others accompanied the Governor.
