GVL launches Gandhi Sankalpa Yatra in Chirala

Chirala: Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao said that he is taking up the Gandhi Sankalpa Yatra in Prakasam district to widespread the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi into the public. He started the walkathon from Chirala on Tuesday morning after paying tributes to Mahatma Gandhi by garlanding his statue at the municipal high school.

He announced that he will continue the yatra for 170 kilometres and will end the yatra at Vinodarayunipalem, the birthplace of Andhra Kesari Tanguturi Prakasam pantulu on October 31.

Speaking on the occasion, GVL said that following the instructions from the Bharatiya Janata Party, every MP of the ruling party is taking up a walkathon for about 150 kilometres in their respective districts along with their local MLAs and party leaders, giving publicity to the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and encouraging the public to follow them as part of the 150th birthday anniversary celebrations of the father of the nation.

He said that he will walk for 10 kilometres daily and end the yatra at Vinodarayunipalem in Naguluppalapadu after 17 days. The BJP SC Morcha leader Dara Sambaiah, district president PV Krishnareddy, vice president Bonthala Krishna, Chirala town president Aravapalli Kumar, and other leaders also participated in the program.
