Amaravati: GVL Narasimha Rao, Rajya Sabha member of BJP, urged the Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to translate discussions in question hours, business in Rajya Sabha, Lok Sabha into regional languages.
He suggested as a first step, the answers to questions can be given in a regional language of the members' choice.
"This is a suggestion worth consideration, but I don't want to come to conclusion without application of mind," Venkaiah Naidu replied.
Narasimha Rao informed with this correspondent over a communication on Monday that, when he raised the issue in the Rajya Sabha, Venkaiah Naidu was positive.
He further informed that, "I will be persuading the government also to make available all the PIB releases in all Indian languages to enhance their reach. In the absence of such an effort, a large section of people are uninformed about several major achievements of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government. This language outreach will help the BJP expand its influence to even far flung areas".
