HC refuses to watch film Lakshmi's NTR
Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh High Court (HC) on Wednesday refused to watch the political movie 'Lakshmi's NTR', stating that the petition pertaining to the High Court judgment was pending in the Supreme Court.
It may be recalled that the High Court stayed the release of the film and posted the matter for April 3. It also ordered the producer to screen the movie Lakshmi's NTR in the Judge chambers to decide the petition demanding its release. However, the producers filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court against the stay order issued by the High Court. The Supreme Court refused to hear the petition immediately and it would hear it in due course of time.
The High Court on Wednesday, when the matter came up for hearing, stated that it could not watch the movie in the chambers as the special leave petition was pending before the Supreme Court. After the Supreme Court decides on the matter only, they could deliver the judgment over the release of the movie, the High Court stated. The case was posted for April 9 for next hearing.Producer Rakesh Reddy hoped that the High Court would clear the petition and allow the release of the film.
