Health Minister allays fears of toddy tappers

Eluru: The state conference of toddy tappers which was held here on Thursday, requested the State government to evolve a new policy to protect the livelihood of the four lakh families engaged in toddy tapping in the state.
Participating as chief guest in the conference, Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Alla Nani assured the toddy tappers to bring their problems to the notice of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to provide a better solution. He blamed erstwhile TDP regime for spoiling the toddy profession.
AP Kallugeetha Karmika Sangham president J Narasimha Murthy urged the State government to take steps to encourage sale of toddy which was good for health.
