Heavy rains lash Nellore district

Nellore: The district received heavy rainfall during the last 24 hours due to thunderstorms. Venkatachalam, Gudur, Nellore, TP Gudur and other places received 11-12 cm of rainfall from Thursday to Friday.

Average rainfall of around 6 cm recorded in the district. All the 46 mandals, except Seetharamapuram, received rains. Venkatachalam Mandal received 12.5 cm, Gudur 12.3 cm, Naidupet 11.8 cm, Kota 11.4 cm, TP Gudur 11.2 cm, Nellore 11 cm, Chillakur 10.6 cm, Ozili 10 cm, Vakadu 9.2 cm, Muthukuru 8.7 cm, Indukurpet and Podalakur 8.4 cm, Kovur 8 cm, Chittamuru 7.7 cm, and many mandals received more than 5 cm of rainfall.
