Honda road safety drive arrives in city
Vijayawada: Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI) brought its flagship National Road Safety Awareness programme to Vikas College of Engineering and Technology in the city on Friday.
Honda's college road safety initiative reached Vijayawada for the first time and empowered over 2,500 college students in just 3 days. "This is part of Honda's National Road Safety Awareness drive. Since January 2019, it has already educated over 88,500 college students of 42 cities across India," said Prabhu Nagaraj, vice-president (brand and communication), Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt Ltd.
He said, "India is the biggest two-wheeler market in the world, making its road users vulnerable to road accidents. Ever since its inception in 2001, Honda is actively involved in educating society on Road Safety to ensure zero accidents on road.
Since the youth of today are not only road users of today but future two-wheeler riders as well, we believe, imparting right knowledge at right age is imperative to make them a safe road user. Nationally, Honda's Road Safety Awareness programme has already educated over 88,500 youth in last 6 months and we are delighted to see the difference on road. Now our initiative has reached Vijayawada where Honda sensitised youth on a serious issue of road safety in a funny way."
