Hone skills in Science & Tech: ISRO ex-chairman
Vijayawada: Former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) A S Kiran Kumar said India achieved outstanding progress in the field of science and technology particularly in the field of space technology.
He said the ISRO has so far launched 299 satellites into space and been achieving progress on par with developed countries. Kiran Kumar inaugurated the Tech Fest 2019 at SRM University in Amaravati on Saturday.
Addressing the students, professors, faculty and the staff of SRM University, Kiran Kumar said ISRO would achieve breakthrough in Chandrayaan and added that Gaganyaan -2 would be launched by ISRO to mark the 75 years of India's independence.
He lauded the services of Vikram Sarabhai to the Indian space technology and called upon the students of the SRM University to gain more knowledge and hone their skills in science and technology.
He said India achieved good progress in science and technology and Indian scientists were predicting cyclones very early to check the disasters and human loss. Prof T Pradeep, Chennai IIT, said the importance for water conservation is increasing in India and other parts of the world.
SRM University VC Dr Jamshed Bharucha, Registrar Dr D Gunasekharan, Tech Fest convener Dr Venkat Nori and others present on the occasion, later the VC felicitated Dr Kiran Kumar and Prof Pradeep on the occasion.
