Chittoor: The State government will distribute house site pattas for eligible beneficiaries irrespective of caste, religion, and community from the Ugadi festival onwards, said Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy while participating in Spandana programme in Vedurukuppam mandal on Monday. He received the petitions from the people and instructed District Collector N Bharat Gupta to resolve their issues within 3 to 4 months.

The Minister stated that officials of the Revenue department will be playing a crucial role in distribution of house site pattas. He warned of government taking stringent action against officials if they commit irregularities in selection of beneficiaries.

Narayana Swamy directed the Revenue department to identify the government vacant lands for allocation of pattas. If government lands are not available, then the government will acquire private lands. Addressing the gathering, the Minister mentioned that the previous government committed irregularities in the distribution of pattadar passbooks. He alleged that the Revenue department had issued fake pattadar passbooks to some farmers in Vedurukuppam mandal. Narayana Swamy directed the Collector to take an immediate action against officials involved in issuing fake passbooks.

The Collector explained the objectives of the Spandana programme. Trainee Collector Prudhvitej, Chittoor RDO Renuka and other officials were present.
