House sites for 25,000 families by Ugadi: Deputy CM
Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani has directed the officials to make preparations for distribution of house site pattas to 25,000 poor families in the Eluru Assembly constituency by Ugadi, next year.
He held a review meeting to discuss the issues relating to housing, Rythu Bharosa scheme, village/ward secretariat issues and several other issues here on Monday. He alleged that as the previous government ignored the problem of housing, the number of beneficiaries increased considerably.
While the State government intends to give house sites to 15,000 initially, in urban area of the constituency alone 16,000 eligible families registered their names. With inclusion of 7,500 beneficiaries in rural area, the total number would be around 25,000.
He asked the officials to allot 72 feet land to each family as against 48 feet suggested by the officials. Similarly, for community hall construction, proposals should be prepared with area not less than 500 feet, he said.
The minister instructed the officials to ensure 500 acres of land acquisition to meet the requirement against the earlier proposed 260 acres.
