How could government suspend the one who cooperated them for coming to power: Kesineni Nani Satires
The 1989 batch of IPS officer AB Venkateswara Rao, who served as intelligence chief during the tenure of Chandrababu Naidu, has been suspended by Jagan government on Sunday. The government says it has suspended him on the grounds that he has committed abuse of power by purchasing surveillance equipment from an Israeli company that contravenes the rules. The government that had previously transferred him has kept him waiting for some time had suspended.
TDP Vijayawada MP Kesineni responded to this through his Twitter handle. He wrote, that instead of honouring him for his role in YSRCP coming to power, why did the government suspend him.
During the 2019 elections, YSRCP leaders complained to the Election Commission against Venkateswara Rao, who served as the Chief of Intelligence during the tenure of Babu, along with SPs of Kadapa and Srikakulam districts alleging them to be acting in favour of TDP. The three were transferred by the Election Commission.
The then government has approached the High Court on the transfers but the court has decided not to interfere in the affairs of the Election Commission. Hence the government attached Venkateswar Rao to the DGP office.
