Identify beneficiaries for YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme: Collector

Visakhapatnam: District Collector V Vinay Chand has directed the officials concerned that every eligible farmer should get benefited under the YSR Rythu Bharosa Scheme.

Addressing the RDOs, Tahsildars and officials from the agriculture department through videoconference on Thursday, he asked them to accord top priority to the scheme and scrutinise the list of beneficiaries in a proper manner.

The scheme will be launched by Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy on October 15 by which 50 lakh farmers across the state will be benefited from the initiative. Small and medium farmers would get Rs 12,500 under the scheme and hence, enough awareness should be created on the initiative, the District Collector informed.

He added the programme would not harm landowners and it would not have any impact on farm loans. He directed the officials to identify the beneficiaries by taking the public representatives into confidence. The beneficiaries should be listed in the prescribed proforma by September 28 so that all arrangements are made to facilitate the scheme launch scheduled on October 15.

Names of beneficiaries should be announced in Grama Sabha. While SC, ST, minority farmers should also be mentioned in the list.Joint Collector L Shiva Shankar, Joint Collector - 2 M V Suryakala, among others took part in the meeting.
