Idols of Anjaneya Swamy temple vandalized at Marlabanda in Sajjala Gudem of Kurnool district

Kurnool:Vandalizing of temples continues in the state. On one side tense situations are prevailing at Nellimarla village in Vizianagaram district, some miscreants have vandalized some idols on the gopuram of Anjaneya Swamy temple here at Kurnool on Saturday afternoon.

According to information, Anjaneya Swamy temple is located at an isolated place, 4 kilometers away from Sajjala Gudem and Kosigi villages. Three days ago a fair (Jatara) of Anjaneya Swamy was organized at Marlabanda. It is said, after completion of Jatara no one used to visit the place as there are not dwellings. But, on Saturday it is noticed that some idols located on the gopuram were broken and the Hundis were also missing. This has created flutter and no time the issue has gone viral on social media.

According to some reliable sources, the Anjaneya Swamy temple is an ancient one. Some miscreants in search of treasure hunt might have vandalized the idols.

The leaders of BJP, TDP and the locals are demanding the police personnel and the authorities of concerned authorities to trace the miscreants and initiate stringent action so that such kind of things should not be repeated in future.

Whatsoever it may be the Vandalizing of Hindu temples has become very casual.
