IIIT contract faculty strike continues
Vijayawada: The strike by IIIT Srikakulam Contract Assistant Professors Welfare Association entered third day on Tuesday. The association members stated the protest on June 30 was against the management of IIIT to fulfil their demands.
The members of the association said that they were recruited as faculty two years ago and were rendering their service for the future of the students sincerely. However, they were being harassed in the name of review meetings which were not followed at Nuzvid and RK Villa centres.
Regarding pay, they were paid less when compared to other IIITs. They were paid less than half when compared to fellow Ph D scholars, said that association members. They appealed to the management of the IIIT to respond and address the issue by talking to the executive body of the university at the earliest.
