Ilayaraja, others presented honorary doctorates at Vignan's University

Guntur: Former chief designer of India's light combat aircraft Dr Kota Harinarayana urged the farmers to use artificial intelligence (AI) to get more yield in agriculture. He said small and marginal farmers may use GIS, GPS to identify fertile lands to get more yield with less investment.

He addressed a meeting held at Vignan's University at Vadlamudi in Guntur district on Saturday on the occasion of university's 7th convocation. He urged the students to concentrate on research to bring revolution in agriculture.

Later, Dr Kota Harinarayana and Vignan's University chairman Dr Lavu Rathaiah presented honorary doctorates to music director Ilayaraja, cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Alla Gopala Krishna Gokhale, TCS senior vice president V Rajanna and felicitated them.

They presented 22 gold medals, 1,570 degrees, three endowment awards and 18 best outgoing student awards to the students. MP and Vignan's University vice-chairman Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu, vice-chancellor Dr MYS Prasad were among those participated.
