Illegal sand mining: 2 JCBS, 12 sand-filled trucks seized in East Godavari

Kakinada: Revenue authorities seized 2 JCBs and 12 loaded trucks in connection with unauthorized sand mining in assigned lands in East Godavari.

The peddapuram revenue division authorities on a tipoff conducted raids at Ramesampeta Metta village in Peddapuram Mandal in East Godavari district late on midnight hours (early hours on Saturday) and seized 2 JCBs and 12 loaded trucks ready to carry red gravel to various destinations. The revenue authorities headed by Peddapuram tahsildar Padmavati found unauthorized quarrying of the red metal in assigned lands and seized the 12 transporting trucks and 2 JCBs.

According to Peddapuram RDO, S Mallibabu, the case has been transferred to East Godavari district mining department for further action.
