Implement complete ban on plastic usage, officials told NGT

Kurnool: National Green Tribunal state committee chairman Justice B Seshasayana Reddy directed the officials to ensure complete ban on the usage of plastic. The chairman accompanied with the District Collector G Veera Pandiyan has addressed the review meeting organised at Collector's office.

with regard to Solid and Waste Management, prevention of plastic usage, dumping yard and vermin compost besides several other issues with the officials concerned.

Addressing the meeting Justice Seshasayana Reddy said that there is dire need to educate the people of both urban and rural areas about the disadvantages of pollution and its impact on health.

He suggested the officials that the collected plastic can be used for laying roads, power generation and in cement manufacturing. He asked the officials to upload online about the preventive measures initiated with regard to plastic ban.

He said the Chief Minister, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is showing keen interest on solid waste, dumping yard, and compost. He has instructed the officials to immediately take up cleaning the waste thrown in the rivers.

District Collector, G Veera Pandiyan has ordered the officials to work with dedication and ensure greenery at the waste management centres. He said people's participation is must in imposing complete ban on plastic usage.
