Importance of field work stressed at SPMVV
Tirupati: The importance of field work especially in rural areas was stressed in the five-day faculty development programme (FDP) organised by the NSS Bureau in Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV) in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi National Council of Rural Education (MGNCRE), Hyderabad.
The National Chairman of MGNCRE, Dr WG Prasanna Kumar participated in the programme on Friday at SPMVV and said that villages are the backbone of the country. M Sai Kiran, Programme Coordinator of MGNCRE underlined the importance of fieldwork, which is more realistic than teaching between four walls.
A total of 40 faculty from various colleges in Tirupati were divided into five groups and visited Venkatramapuram village to study the ground realities there. SPMVV NSS Coordinator Prof J Katyayani, Co-convenor Dr K Sunitha, Dr N Anuradha and others participated in the programme.
