In view of solar eclipse, the Srisailam temple to remain closed tomorrow

Kurnool: In view of solar eclipse, the Srisailam temple will remain closed from 10.00 pm on June 20 and on June 21. The doors of the temple will be opened after completion of the eclipse after 4.30 pm on June 21, the temple authorities have stated in a press release on Friday.

After the doors are opened at 4.30 pm on June 21, the temple will be cleaned. Samprokshna will be performed at both temples amid chanting of mantras. Mangala Haratis to the presiding deities will be given after performing of Samprokshna and evening prayers. Later at about 7 pm Kalyanotsavam will be performed to Swami Amma varlu followed by Ektantha Seva and after that the temple doors would be closed at 10 pm.

In view of prevailing corona virus, the devotees would be allowed only in the evening on 20th as per Covid protocol. But there will be no darshan for devotees on June 21. Collector, SP plant tree saplings District Collector G Veera Pandiyan and Superintendent of Police (SP), Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli planted tree saplings at Nakshatra Vanam in Srisailam on Friday.

The duo visited the temple on Friday and had the darshan of the presiding deities. Later they inspected the queue lines and the steps being taken to control the spread of killer virus.The temple Executive Officer (EO), KS Rama Rao gave details about the Rasi Vanam, Nava Graha Vanam and Saptha Rushi Vanams at the Nakshatra Vanam adjacent to the temple.
