Income Tax sleuths raid at YSRCP leader Jafar's transport company in Chittoor
The YSR Congress Party leader has been raided by the Income Tax department. IT department officials conducted searches at SKS Jafar Transport Office in Palamaneru district of Chittoor. Jafar rose from a lorry driver to transport business. IT sleuths have held raids on Jafer's office since Thursday morning.
Jafar who was once a TDP leader and a friend of former minister Adinarayana Reddy has joined the YSRCP before 2019 elections. He is reported to have worked for the YCP candidate in the Palamaneru constituency. However, when he joined the YCRCP from the TDP, a section of the YSRCP leaders opposed him. With the municipal elections will soon be held in Andhra Pradesh and Jafar is reportedly expected to contest the municipal election.
Jafar was once a lorry driver and set up a large transport company in Chittoor. He is accused of possessing illegal assets. A few days ago, Jafar held a meeting with the minority community. It was reported that Palamaneru MLA was not invited to the meeting.
