Industrial park to come up in Atmakur

Nellore: Minister for Industries and Information Technology Mekapati Goutham Reddy informed that they had arranged MGR (Mekapati Gowtham Reddy) helpline in the Atmakur segment which resolved 643 issues so far.

The Minister held a review meeting with the officials at Atmakur Junior College on Tuesday. He garlanded the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar in connection with the Constitution Day and released the poster of the YSR Navodayam scheme.

Speaking at the meeting, the Minister appealed to the village volunteers to ensure the benefits of various government schemes reach the downtrodden. He explained that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had introduced the Grama Sachivalayam system at their doorsteps for convenience of the rural population.

"Volunteers have to record the grievances of the local population carefully and have to forward them to the local officials for a fast solution. They have to address all the issues and ensure implementation of welfare schemes as part of Navaratnalu programme announced by the government," said the Minister.

He also said they would take measures to set up an Industrial Park in the Atmakur segment for providing avenues to the local unemployed. He said 75 pc of opportunities have been earmarked for the local population in the industries. Goutham Reddy also said that around 48 lakh farmers derived benefit from the Rythu Bharosa scheme.

Atmakur RDO K Umadevi and DRDA Project Director P Seena Naik explained about issues of house sites, pensions and also zero-interest loans. District Industries Manager Maruthi Prasad said that the district is top in implementation of the YSR Navodayam scheme.

Further, officials handed over orders to the ITI holders who were selected in the job mela. Municipal Commissioner Ramesh Kumar, DFO Ravi Sankar, ZP Deputy CEO Srivani and others were present.
