Initiate action against funds misuse: Minister P Anil Kumar to Joint Collector Vinod Kumar

Nellore: Minister for Water Resources Dr. P Anil Kumar said that they would start VR College works with Rs 1 crore CSR funds from January. He reviewed with Joint Collector and Special Officer of VR College Dr. V Vinod Kumar and directed him to initiate action against the fund misappropriation in the institute. He, along with Joint Collector visited the college on Monday and addressed a meet there.

He enquired on the number of faculty members, how many have been attending regularly, and the deposit of fund sources in the designated bank account properly or not. He asked in which bank account the funds are being deposited and the principal of college failed to respond instantly. The Minister asked the college is getting Rs 25 lakhs per month from hoardings on the premises and asked the officials about the accounts. Anil Kumar directed Joint Collector Vinod Kumar to collect the details from the College. He also asked to bring records of salaries, expenditure, and others within a week, otherwise, book police cases against the responsible if they fail to provide details of the funds and their status.

Interacting with media, Minister Anil said that they would focus on the Institution for its development and appoint additional staff members based on the requirement. He said they would hereafter provide the grounds for only sports-related activities and not for commercial purposes.

Rural MLA K Sridhar Reddy said that they won't spare anyone who obstructs the development of College. He said they had identified misuse of funds in the College and would take appropriate measures to correct them.
