Itchapuram TDP winning ground
Srikakulam: After foundation of TDP in 1983, elections held here for eight occasions, of it TDP candidates won on seven occasions and the Congress candidate won in single term in 2004. Itchapuram segment located on the north eastern part of Andhra Pradesh and it was formed in 1952 since then elections held for MLA seat 14 times.
Krishikar Lok Party (KLP) won two times, Reddy Congress candidates elected two times, Janata Party candidate won one term and independent candidate won on one occasion. Present MLA Dr B Ashok again got TDP ticket and also launched election campaign here.
The segment spread in Itchapuram town, Rural, Kaviti, Kanchili and Sompeta mandals. Reddyka, Yadava, Kalinga, fishermen voters are crucial in victory of the candidates.
As it is located in north eastern part of state, most leaders believe that launching of any activity will provide success to them. This time TDP candidate Dr D Ashok was pitched against YSRCP candidate P Sai Raj. They are making sincere efforts to attract voters in the elections.
