Minister of Education Adimulapu Suresh questioned who gave the right to state election commissioner Ramesh Kumar to postpone elections. Speaking at a press conference at the YSRCP headquarters on Tuesday, he said the retention of elections is the darkest day in the history of the state. People are also worried about postponing elections. He said that Elections commissioner Ramesh Kumar has disrespected the decision taken by the governor on the conduction of elections and acted beyond his purview.

Suresh said Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's idea was to strengthen local institutions while the election commissioner's decision of postponing elections is undemocratic. The government is taking all possible measures to prevent corona.

Suresh took a dug at Chandrababu Naidu and questioned why they could not conduct elections in 2018 after the high court has directed to hold the elections in 90 days. The educational minister urged SEC to reconsider his decision as the government is ready to conduct local elections.
