The Chief Minister said, "Chandrababu Naidu has been spreading canards against our government as we have been launching welfare schemes in a manner and measure that has been attracting national attention. He has been trying to divert the attention of the people".

Chandrababu Naidu blamed the government that it was selling liquor even on Gandhi Jayanthi, October 2, only to get some space in the media as there was no truth in it and no liquor shop was open on that day, Jagan stated.

On October 2, government launched Village Secretariat system which was one of its kind and unique in the entire country, he added.

"We have unveiled our sincerity on October 1 through the Excise Policy wherein we have cut down 20 percent of the existing liquor shops, reduced the liquor sale timings and are working towards total prohibition", CM said.

Chief Minister said, whenever our government is launching a major event which has the potential of being watched by people of the nation, he comes up with such frivolous episodes to remain in circulation.

During the previous government, nearly 43,000 belt shops were allowed to function which we have totally closed down and have also given orders to close down the permit rooms which were functioning besides the liquor shops, Jagan said.
