Jagan Govt to probe into allegations on Naidu through CBI
Amaravati: Holding former CM and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu, his son Nara Lokesh and their family-owned Heritage company as responsible, the AP cabinet has approved a proposal to order a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the alleged corruption. After accepting the cabinet sub-committee report on the alleged corruptions took place during the tenure of Naidu, the cabinet decided to inquire the violations through CBI.
The cabinet sub-committee reported that Naidu procured Ghee and buttermilk from his family-owned Heritage by spending excess money. Naidu government gave tenders of Fiber net by violating norms and rules. It was primarily found that at least Rs 150 cr corruption took place in Chandranna Kanuka programme and another Rs 200 cr in Fiber grid tenders.
Vemuri Hari Krishna Prasad, who was a member in the Tender Evaluation Committee of the AP Fibre Grid at the time of awarding the tenders to Tera Software, was a close associate of Chandrababu Naidu, accused the Minister of Information Perni Nani. The government also accused that Hari Krishna Prasad worked with the same Tera Software sister companies before joining as Member, e-Governance Authority, Electronics and IT Agency, Innovation Society, Govt of AP at that time. This tender was floated for a value of around Rs 333 cr. In addition to that, the government has been suspecting that the Tera Software was not qualified but got the project tenders. Rules were violated even in the set-top boxes procurement, observed Perni Nani.
