Andhra Pradesh CM Jagan Mohan Reddy likely to induct two BC MLAs in his cabinet
Amaravati: The aspirants in the YSRCP have been lobbying for the cabinet berth, as the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy hinted that he will induct the new members into his cabinet this month itself. It is known that two vacancies emerged following the resignation of sitting members including Pilli Subhash Chandrabose and Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who were elected to Rajya Sabha recently.
There are more than ten MLAs aspiring for the cabinet berth in the party and almost all have been negotiating with the party senior leaders to get the chance this time. On the other hand, the party key leaders, in the internal talks, saying that this time the two vacancies would be filled with the BC leaders. This decision was taken so because the two leaders who resigned were also from the BC communities.
The sources in the party have been saying that the most probable candidates to be selected by the Chief Minister would be among the four MLAs including Chennaboina Venu from Ramachandrapuram, Ponnada Satish Kumar from Mummidivaram, Jogi Ramesh of Pedana and Sidiri Appala Raju of Palasa.
Even though the party was first thought to induct the members from Kapu and other communities also as two BC leaders got the opportunity for Rajya Sabha, this decision was withdrawn considering the prevailing political scenario in the State. Meanwhile, the party is in view that, as the cabinet reshuffle will be taken again in a year, the Kapu and other communities would be given an opportunity at that time, according to sources.
