Amaravati: Making the Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy responsible for the deaths of 82 farmers during the Amaravati agitation, the TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh criticised that former was playing three cards with the AP Capital, in a statement on Thursday.

Lokesh slammed the YSRCP Government for following an oppressive policy of reducing Amaravati Capital City to a burial ground.

He said the Government's unlawful policy had so far caused the death of over 82 farmers who have been waging a relentless struggle in Amaravati villages against the Capital shifting. Now, another woman farmer Nagendramma, who has been taking part in the agitation, passed away, Lokesh added.

The TDP leader deplored that the Chief Minister was playing a cruel 3 cards game with the lives of Amaravati farmers. They had given thousands of their ancestral lands for the cause of developing a good capital city for all the people of the State. With his adamant and vengeful attitude, the CM was causing the death of the farmers, Lokesh criticised.

Lokesh said that farmer Nagendramma has given 95 cents of her land for Amaravati construction. She has been participating in protest programmes for the last 240 days. The YSRCP leaders took sadistic pleasure in describing Amaravati as a burial ground in the beginning. Now, they seemed to have made it their single point agenda to reduce Amaravati into a burial ground.

It may be recalled that over 29,000 farmers had given their 33,000 acres of ancestral lands for developing AP Capital in Amaravati. The farmers along with the Amaravati JAC have been participating in protests while observing the Coronavirus guidelines like wearing face masks and using sanitizers.
