Jagananna Vidya Kanuka kits to be distributed to students on the first day of reopening
Andhra Pradesh: Known for its reliability, the Andhra Pradesh government headed by chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has given good news to students if government schools. As stated earlier, the government has planned to provide 7 items from 1st to 10th-grade students in all public schools from the academic year. The government is going to distribute the kit 'to every student in the name of' Jaganna Vidhya Kanuka'.
The scheme would benefit nearly 39.70 lakh students across the state and has been made all arrangements under auspices of Samagra Shishu Abhiyan to provide 7 items to students on the first day of reopening of public schools. The government will also provide bus transportation to the students for free of charge. It is also noted that the students can join either of English medium or Telugu medium. However, it has made Telugu mandatory in every classroom where English medium is taught.
Here are the highlights of Jagananna Vidya Kanuka scheme
- Three pairs of dresses (school uniform), belt, one pair of shoes, two pairs of socks, school books, notebooks, school bag are provided under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka
- These are distributed to mothers of students through school parent committees. The cost of uniform sewing is Rs. 40 will be deposited in their bank accounts.
- The government is spending Rs 650.60 crore for the academic year 2020-21.
- Funds available to students in grades 1 to 8 through the Comprehensive Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA).
- There will be the availability of SSA funds for classes 9 and 10. The cost of these students will be borne by the state government.
