Jana Sena holds rally in support of 'long march'

Nellore: Jana Sena leaders organised a rally in the city on Sunday in support the long march taken out in Visakhapatnam by party chief K Pawan Kalyan.

Jana Sena leaders and activists led by Keathamreddy Vinod Reddy staged a novel protest at Gandhi statue in the city They weighed in sand against currency notes to demonstrate how expensive the commodity became.

Speaking to the media, Jana Sena leader Vinod Reddy said the construction workers have been facing severe difficulties. He said sand mafia has been smuggling sand from the district to other parts of the country with impunity.

No common man is able to get sand easily with the new policy. sHe also said the Ministers in the district claimed that the sand scarcity is due to floods.

Vinod Reddy said the Minister for Water Resources P Anil Kumar Yadav failed to resolve the issue in the State and has been making needless comments against the Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan.

Jana Sena leader also explained that the Minister had directed irrigation officials to lift the crest gates of the Somasila reservoir without filling Kandaleru reservoir to brim.

He lamented that construction workers were forced to commit suicides.

Vinod Reddy demanded monthly pension of Rs 10,000 for the families of the workers who lost their livelihood.

Jana Sena leaders P Chandrasekhar Reddy, K Murali Reddy, Aliya, Sireesha and others were present.
