Janasena protest at GGH Guntur over rape incident of 5-year-old

Guntur: Within the 24 hours of the Disha Act passed in the AP Assembly, a rape incident on the 5-year-old girl has created a flutter in the Guntur district.

The TDP, Janasena, Left party leaders have condemned this incident, staged a protest at GGH where the girl is getting treatment and demanding justice for the victim's family. The leaders raised slogans against the government and demanded Home Minister to take up the case under the Disha act.

On hearing about the incident, AP Women's Commission Chairperson and YCP leader Vasireddy Padma has reached government hospital, where the Janasena and Left parties leaders have blocked her entering the hospital. This led to a tense situation at the hospital premises.

This incident happened at Rami Reddy Nagar in Guntur while the girl was playing in the house. The accused Laxman Reddy has raped her. On receiving the complaint from the girl's parents, the police registered against the accused, who is studying Intermediate in Guntur. While no one in the house, he committed this crime.

As the girl has fallen sick, the parents asked what has happened, where she disclosed the matter. Immediately, the parents lodged a complaint with Nagarampalem police station. On receiving the complaint, the police registered a case and took the accused into their custody. At present, the girl is being treated at Guntur GGH.
