JC, MLA inaugurate subsidy centre for onions in Kurnool

Kurnool: Joint Collector Patanshetti Ravi Subash and Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy have inaugurated subsidy centre for onions at C Camp Rythu Bazar here on Saturday. The subsidy centre was inaugurated as per the directions of state government, stated the Joint Collector.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, the Joint Collector said that the subsidy centre for onions was opened as per the directions of state government. He said that the onion rates have abnormally gone up and a kg of onions is being sold between Rs.70 to Rs.100 which is out of reach of common people. So the government has intended to supply onions on subsidy rates, said Ravi Subash.

Now, the common people can purchase on subsidy rate of Rs 25 at the subsidy centre and the government will bear the additional price and the subsidy centre will continue till the rates in the open market come to normal price, the Joint Collector said. He appealed the people to utilise the opportunity. The Joint collector further said that two more subsidy centres, at Adoni and Nandyal are planned, he added.

Panyam MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy urged the Joint Collector to take steps for the extension of present Rythu Bazar as it is packed with the vendors. Assistant Director of Marketing Sathyanarayana Choudhary and others participated in the inaugural programme.
