Joint Collector-II G Rajakumari directs children's home to arrange beds in Kakinada
Kakinada: Joint Collector-II G Rajakumari has said orphanages and children's homes should strictly follow the rules and regulations formulated by the State government. She paid a surprise visit and inspected the Bereka Children's Home at Gandhinagar here on Thursday.
She questioned Director Divya over the lack of minimum facilities at the home. The Joint Collector-II was shocked to know that no proper facilities were provided to 48 girls in the home.
She asked her as to why children were allowed to sleep on the floor when they can arrange beds for them. She said that State government has set up welfare hostels for children so that they could stay there comfortably without facing hardships.
Joint Collector-II Rajakumari said that children's home surroundings lacked proper sanitation. She directed them to register the institution under the Juvenile Justice Act. The Children's Home should comply with the State government's regulations. She warned that action would be taken if the regulations were violated.
