Journalist appointed as FCI member in Srikakulam
Srikakulam: Journalist B Umamaheswara Rao has been appointed as a member for Consultative Committee in Food Corporation of India (FCI). The committee is working under Central Food and Consumer Affairs Department. Umamaheswara Rao received appointment order on Tuesday. He will continue as a member for two years.
The main duties of the Consultative Committee are to protect interests of both producer and consumer regarding food grains. The Committee is acting as an advisory body to explain issues relating to farmers and consumers in the State.
Umamaheswara Rao has been working as journalist in various vernacular news dailies. He hailed from Kesavaraopeta village under Etcherla mandal in Srikakulam district.
