Jyothirao Phule remembered

Vijayawada: Floral tributes were paid to Jyothirao Phule on his 193rd birth anniversary by AP state chief secretary LV Subramaniam here on Thursday. As part of the anniversary, a programme was organised at Tummalapalli Kalakshetram.

Speaking on the occasion, Subramaniam said Phule strived for the uplift of the poor and for the education of women. He educated his wife and helped her serve society. Pamphlets pertaining to the important events of Phule were distributed to the students on the occasion.

BC community welfare department chief secretary B Udayalakshmi, AP residential schools secretary A Krishnamohan, Kapu Corporation MD Sivashankar and others were present.
