Kadapa: After a gap of nearly 60 days, the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation(APSRTC) Kadapa region has resumed its services from Thursday in the district.

According to official sources, 140 services against a total of 797 are being operated to different places like Tirupati, Kurnool, Anantapur, and Nellore from Kadapa district.

Among 140 buses 90 were operated to villages under Pallevelugu while 50 for long destinations. As 44 coronavirus positive cases were reported from Proddatur, RTC did not permit services to the town.

When contacted by Hans India APSRTC Kadapa regional manager T. Jithendranath Reddy said that there was poor occupancy in the buses as people are under the scare of covid-19.

Only one passenger is allowed to sit in the double seater, while two were permitted in the triple seater to maintain social distance.

He said that wearing mask is made mandatory for all passengers and elaborate arrangements were made for sanitisation of passengers.

He said 40percent of tickets were to accept in online system and remaining 60 percent of tickets will be issued by conductors at the bus stands.
