Kadapa: Bankers told to lend loans to eligible beneficiaries only

Kadapa: The District Consultative Committee(DCC) and District Level Review Committee of Bankers (DLRCB) meeting chaired by Collector Ch Harikiran on Monday stressed the need of achieving cent per cent targets related to lending loans for state government's prestigious Jagananna Thodu, Jagananna Cheyutha schemes in the district.

The meeting also decided to lend the loans only after keen verification of eligible beneficiaries to avoid misusing of public money.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy was very particular over effective implementation of welfare schemes in the interest eradicating poverty.

He said banks should act according to the wishes of chief minister and to avoid prevailing unrest among the beneficiaries.

However, the Collector expressed satisfaction over the bankers for achieving 48.78 per cent progress by disbursing Rs 6,307.06 crore against Rs 12, 950 crore in the credit plan for 2020-21 financial year. Lead Bank District Officer Saicharan, SBI RM M Kumar and JC Dharmachandra Reddy were present.
