Kadapa: In view of abnormal surge in Covid positive cases, the administration has intensified measures to prevent the spread of dreaded virus in the district.

As part of this initiative, During Task Force Committee meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha, it was decided to conduct door-to-door survey to conduct Coronavirus tests to the people. It was also decided to initiate stringent action against public and traders who fail to wear masks during the transactions.

Admitting there was dangerous situation prevailing in the district, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Rs 300 penalty will be imposed to general public who come on to the roads without wearing masks. He asked the traders to compulsory wear masks and gloves during business hours, other-wise their shops will be seized after imposing penalties ranging from Rs 2,000 Rs 5,000. ``We have decided to adopt stringent measures as the situation is appears to go out of control following abnormal hike in Covid-19 positive cases in the district," he said.

Meanwhile with the registration of 71 new Coronavirus positive cases, the total number reaches to 1,022 in the district on Monday. RDO Malola, Municipal Commissioner and others were present.
