Kadapa: One held for kidnapping teacher

Kadapa: Proddaturu Police have arrested a person on the charges blackmailing women and threating them to post their pictures in social media, on Thursday.

The accused was identified as Avuja Rajkumar alias Santosh Reddy of Pagidyala village of Nandikotkur segment in Kurnool district. The incident came to the light after the accused abducted a teacher and her relatives lodged complaint with the Proddatur police two days ago.

Addressing press conference, Proddatur DSP L Sudhakar said that the accused is an RMP doctor by profession and presently running a private school in Korrapadu village in Rajupalem mandal the district. He developed one-side love on a teacher who was working in the school run by him. As she ignored his proposal, he abducted her. The parents of the victim lodged a complaint with the police.

Police launched a manhunt and finally arrested him at Tyagalamarri- Rajupalem Road on Thursday. The DSP said that there were already 11 cases registered against the accused in Nandyal, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pathikonda and in Kurnool. The accused was imprisoned for some time in the past.

The DSP appreciated Proddatur CI K Viswanath Reddy, Rajupalem SI S Lakshminarayana and others for arresting the culprit.
