Kadapa: Shun violence, Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita urges prisoners
Kadapa: Home Minister and also Minister for Disaster Management Mekathoti Sucharitha advised the prisoners to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream.
The Home Minister, on Friday, laid the foundation for construction of Modular Furniture Skill Development-cum-Production Centre which will be constructed at a cost of Rs 4.70 crore in the premises of Kadapa Central Prison. She addressed a meeting of prison inmates and stated that there might be several reasons for their acts.
She said in view of bringing change in the behaviour of the convicted prisoners, government is providing work and train them in technical skills.
The minister urged the prisoners to be good after completion of their conviction period.
Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha said that unfortunately they were forced to involve in the criminal activities.
On this occasion, Home Minister unveiled poster 'Mee Rakshana- Ma Badyatha' designed by the police department. Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, Government Chief Whip G Srikanth Reddy, Government Whip K Srinivasulu District Collector Ch Harikiran, Prisons Department DG Mohammed Hussain Riaz, DIG Varaprasad and others were present.
