Kakinada: Beneficiary selection commences for YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme
Kakinada: Verification of village-wise lists for identification farmers eligible under YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme began in the state on Wednesday. It will continue up to September 25. Disclosing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, agriculture minister Kurasala Kannababu said that the lists provided by RTGS (Real-time Governance Society) will be verified by the committees constituted at different levels and the final lists will be displayed at gram panchayats inviting objections, if any, before being uploading in the App.
Observing that 70 lakh farmers, including tenant farmers, would be benefited under this scheme, the minister said Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy had already directed the banks to credit the money in the unencumbered accounts of farmers, as this was being given as investment to the farmers.
Kannababu said the verification of lists would be done by multi-purpose extension officers (MPEOs) and village revenue officers (VROs) in coordination with village volunteers in the villages. "In major villages, agriculture extension officer, revenue inspectors along with MPEO and VRO will verify the lists. Tashildar and mandal agriculture officers will monitor at mandal level and revenue divisional officer (RDO) and assistant directors at division level, joint directors at district level will coordinate under the chairmanship of district collector," he explained.
On eligibility, the minister said that aqua farmers, land conversions and income tax payers are not eligible under the scheme and only one landless tenant farmer who signs lease agreement with land owner, irrespective of the size of holding, is eligible
