Kakinada: Bike rally in support of tomorrow's strike
Kakinada: The Left parties and organisations like AITUC, INTUC, CITU, IFTU and AISSTU in the district urged the people to make the nationwide strike call given the by trade unions on November 26 a success.
The Left activists took out a bike rally here on Tuesday in support of the proposed strike in protest against the Centre's economic policies. CITU district general secretary Ch Raj Kumar said that the Central government has brought anti-worker and anti-farmer acts in the lockdown period by ignoring people's welfare during the pandemic.
He said that with the acts made by Modi-led BJP government, the workers will become slaves and lose all the rights and protections to them brought as a result of agitations and movements for decades. He said that workers from all sectors, except those involved in essential services would take part in the nationwide strike. He said that they protest against the Central government's policies including new labour and farm laws as well privatisation of public sector units.
CITU district president Palivela Veerababu, M Venkata Ramana and others were present.
