Kakinada: Help victims get free legal aid, cops told

Kakinada: District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) secretary Hima Bindu suggested the officials to submit copies of First Information Report to DLSA to extend compensation to victims of rape, acid attack and other cases.

Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Adnan Nayeem Asmi, a one-day workshop with district officials was held at District Police Office here on Saturday.

The DLSA secretary explained to the district officials about POCSO, POA, NDPS and Disha Act.

She said that the police should display boards, explaining the names of advocates, who rendered legal services free of cost in their respective jurisdictions. She said that people can approach the DLSA for any legal help free of cost.

Additional Superintendent of Police Arif Hafeez, Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin) K Kumar , SB DSPs M Ambika Prasad, S Murali Mohan, DCRB Inspector YRK Srinvias and Addl PP Gr II Radha Krishnam Raju and others were present.
