Kakinada: Implement Telugu in all govt offices, officials told
Kakinada: Official Language Commission honorary president Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad directed the officials to implement Telugu as the official language in all government departments in good faith. He conducted a review on the implementation of Telugu as the administrative language in the district at Collectorate here on Monday.
Lakshmi Prasad said that Godavari districts have laid a large foundation for Telugu language and Telugu literature. He said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been working for the preservation of the Telugu language after coming to power.
He said that the Adhikara Bhasha Sangam has powers and it can inspect any government office or government agency in the state to review the progress made in the use of Telugu language in official functions.
He explained that the functions of the Official Language Commission were to formulate a suitable programme for the systematic use of the Telugu language in the official functions of the State Government, to restrict the use of the English language in all official functions, or any of them.
He reviewed the progress made in the use of Telugu in official programs and said that the association will submit a report to the state government with appropriate recommendations for the development of the official language. He expressed his satisfaction over the implementation of Telugu as the official language in all government offices in the district.
