Kakinada: Leaders and activists of CITU and AITUC staged a dharna against the Union Budget in front of the Collectorate here on Monday.

CITU district leader Duvva Seshu Babji and AITUC district secretary T Prasad said that BJP government has destroyed the Indian economy and imposing unprecedented burdens on the people.

It has been giving concession after concession to the rich and the corporate firms, which has widened economic inequalities among people.

This type of glaring economic divide was never witnessed before in independent India. They demanded that the Central government to rollback the large-scale privatization of national assets including the disinvestment of LIC, which is a repository of people's lifelong savings and security. Palivela Veerababu, PS Narayana, T Annavaram, G Ramaiah, Ramakrishna and others were present.
