Kakinada: MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Kakinada Mayor S Pavani pays Rich tributes paid to ex-Speaker GMC Balayogi

Kakinada: Former Speaker of Lok Sabha and TDP leader GMC Balayogi's 18th death anniversary was observed here on Tuesday by the district TDP leaders and workers. As part of the programme, TDP senior leader and MLC Chikkala Ramachandra Rao and Kakinada Mayor S Pavani garlanded the statue of GMC Balayogi at the district TDP Office and paid glowing tributes to him.

Speaking on the occasion, Rao stated that GMC Balayogi was an inspirational icon to every politician. He started his political career from the level of a Zilla Parishad chairman and reached the position of Lok Sabha Speaker by the sheer dint of his hard work, he added.

He said that the TDP made a Dalit leader as Speaker of Lok Sabha for the first time in the year 1999. He said that every politician should follow in Balayogi's footsteps to become a good politician and achieve great things in life.

The district TDP leaders recalled the services rendered by Balayogi as a legislator, a minister in the un divided State of Andhra Pradesh and later as an excellent parliamentarian.

TDP leaders M Ganga Surya Narayana, K Apparao, B Krishna Mohan and others were present on the occasion. It may be recalled here that GMC Balayogi died in a tragic helicopter crash.
