Kakinada: Refund of tickets to avoid crowding by railways
Kakinada: In view of Janata Curfew, train services have been cancelled since Saturday midnight at all railway stations in East Godavari district.
Several trains were stopped from 4 am on Sunday. South Central Railways cancelled several trains in order to restrict Coronavirus from spreading.
The passengers observed the curfew from 7 am to 9 pm.
The railway station in Kakinada presented a deserted look.
In order to further facilitate rail passengers in availing facility of refund of tickets to avoid crowding at railway stations and to observe social distancing on Railway premises, Indian Railways further relaxed refund rules for the reserved tickets generated through PRS (Railway Reservation) counters.
This relaxation is for a period of three months with journey commencing period from March 21 to June 21.
